The structure, functioning and fundamental roles of the Constitutional Court will be examined while also the types of control that the Court applies will be evaluated.

The structures of the taxes levied on income, capital and expenses in Turkish Tax System, the subject and tax payer of the taxes such as income tax, corporate tax, real estate tax, value added tax, private consumption tax, custom duty, acts causing taxes, new tendencies about these taxes and implementations in European Union shall be analyzed comparatively

Basic taxation principles, taxation efficiency, reflection, tax burden and effort, taxation of income, capital and consumption, modern tax policies, actual problems of Turkish tax policies, new tendencies at income, corporate and value added taxes shall be analyzed.

The aim of this course is to evaluate in detail the contemporary conflicts in the international law. In this context, especially the international law problems of Turkey will be examined in the legal framework.

The aim of the course is to provide information about international criminal law in theory and practice. To do so, a brief information concerning the theory of international criminal law; individual criminal responsibility as a subject of international law, international criminal judicial institutions such as the ad hoc tribunals (The UN International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, The UN International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, The UN International Residual Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals) and the International Criminal Court; international crimes (war crimes, the crime of genocide, crimes against humanity and the crime of aggression); the case law of such institutions will be examined.

The constitution of European Court of Justice, its judicial power and the authority will be examined underlying the scope of law texts that is being used for judgements.

In this course, contemporary management approaches such as performance management, human resources management, transparency, accountability, participation and good governance, which are adopted by today's new public management approach and have various dimensions of application in local governments, are examined.

This course includes the structural and functional aspects of the main and auxiliary institutions of the state organization that constitute the administrative structure of Turkey.

This course aims to provide students with the expertise of the philosophy, legal and institutional dimensions of local governments in Turkey.

The main aim of restructuring of local governments is to modernize these institutions in accordance with the worldwide trends and make them more functional and efficient towards the public needs and expectations. In this course, restructuring processes of the local governments will be elaborated on both national and global levels, and also the examples of amendments in municipal law and their implications will be analyzed.

Under Local Administrations and Self Governance Master?s Program (without thesis) the students are expected to prepare a Graduation Project according to academic rules in order to be able to graduate. During this course, they are expected to use the knowledge they gained under the master?s program in both research and formation of the text.

Concepts and dimensions of research, steps of a research process, qualitative/quantitative research techniques, research design and writing research report are discussed in the course.
